The BRIEF

As a volunteer graphic designer at Micah Projects, I created a commemorative zine celebrating the organization’s 30-year anniversary. Micah Projects is a West End-based community organization supporting people experiencing homelessness and social disadvantage. The zine features one page per year of operation, detailing the positive impact they’ve made on the community and invaluable contributions of volunteers throughout the years. While maintaining Micah Projects’ brand identity, the visual design draws inspiration from quilts crafted by the Happy Patches, a community group that creates handmade quilts for newborns and families accessing Micah Projects’ services. Custom typography echoes the geometric patterns found in these quilts.

I acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal People as the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work. I pay my respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
